Rose Marie FloydRose Marie Floyd, Director and Choreographer of the Contemporary Civic Ballet Company, founded her non-profit company in 1956 to provide dancers the experience of performing in a company and to further the cultural development of the community. Many of her students have gone on to perform in major companies, including the Joffrey Ballet, Netherlands Dance Co., Houston Ballet, Martha Graham, Cleveland Ballet, multiple Modern Dance companies and Broadway Musicals.

A graduate of Wayne State University, Rose Marie Floyd holds the Final Maestro Cecchetti Diploma, the most advanced honor in the Cecchetti Society, a branch of the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing of England, and the Cecchetti Council of America (C.C.A.). She is a permanent Examiner, Past President, and on the National Board of the C.C.A.

Among Rose Marie Floyd's many accolades she has received the "Woman of the Year" award from Soroptimists International and the "Teacher of the Year" award from the Michigan Dance Association. She has been awarded the “Arts Achievement Award” from Wayne State University and was selected for “Who's Who Among Teachers in America” in 1996. Dance Teacher of the Year Award from Dance Teacher Magazine in the Private Studio and Conservatory category was bestowed upon Rose Marie Floyd in 2006.
